01 / THE EVERYDAY RIDE
A clear sky can change. So can the road ahead. Riders need a little more context before setting off.

A shorter route can take longer. See alternatives with live traffic, toll and highway preferences.
A road hazard or a timely break can make a difference. Bring those details into the same view.

STAY ORIENTEDMAP GUIDE
A quick guide to RouteOne’s markers, colours and alerts, before you open the app.
All 45 guide items
The blue dot shows your current device location. Its pale pulse highlights the marker.
After location access is allowedThe wider translucent circle estimates how precise the GPS fix is. A larger circle means more uncertainty.
Separate from the marker’s decorative pulseThe green circle with a white centre marks where your planned route begins.
The red pin marks where your route ends.
A blue teardrop pin marks a recommended place. Open it to see the place and add a stop.
Place symbols depend on the recommendationAn amber circular marker identifies the stop added to your journey. Its symbol follows the place type.
The umbrella is the fallback symbolThe first route is blue; alternatives are green and amber. Your selected route is thicker and brighter, while the others fade.
Route colours are separate from traffic coloursThe blue arrow replaces the GPS dot during navigation and turns with your direction of travel.
During turn-by-turn navigationThe banner shows your next direction and street. The smaller line previews the following turn.
Shown when navigatingA green segment is classified as normal traffic by Google. It is not a guarantee of an empty road.
Google traffic at route calculationA yellow segment means slower traffic. The amber down-arrow pin marks that section.
Google traffic at route calculationA red segment means heavy congestion. The red circle with an exclamation mark belongs to traffic, not weather.
Google traffic at route calculationA green-ringed rain cloud means rain appears in the district’s daily forecast.
Forecast wording, not measured rain intensityAn amber-ringed storm cloud means a thunderstorm appears in the district’s daily forecast.
No widespread or most-areas wording is presentA red-ringed storm cloud means storm and widespread or most-areas wording occur in that day’s forecasts.
These rings are not rainfall-rate thresholdsThe red ring with a warning triangle marks an active MET Malaysia warning with a recognised location.
Different from the traffic exclamation-mark pinRainViewer adds recent radar scans to the map. These scans are separate from the forecast for your arrival.
Scan availability depends on RainViewerPlay animates recent scans. Open Timeline to move through the available frames and read the scan time.
Past radar frames, not a future rain animationEach district shows a distance range, arrival window in MYT and forecast. Green is low concern, amber is moderate or missing data, and red is high concern.
Red can mean a storm, flood or active warning; it does not mean rain aloneThe forecast text gives the condition; its symbol is a quick visual cue.
Read the condition text as well as the iconThe question mark means no matching forecast is available. Missing data does not mean clear weather.
The destination weather notice describes conditions expected around arrival. The same icon remains beside the bottom ETA if you close the notice.
During navigation, after a weather briefingA rain notice can come from MET forecasts, a MET warning or recent radar. It offers access to Smart Stops when you need shelter.
Read the source shown in the noticeA yellow circular badge with a pointed tail marks a rider report. The symbol identifies its report detail.
Community pins are separate from Google traffic and MET warningsOther riders report traffic, heavy traffic or a standstill.

Example: Location foundA blue information symbol gives context about the app or your device.
Example: Approximate locationAn amber triangle asks you to check something before continuing.
Example: Choose a Starting Point and destinationA red crossed circle means an action failed or a service is unavailable.
Example: Weather unavailablePlace icons and labels, including food, lodging, universities and bus stops, come from Google Maps. They are not RouteOne report or Smart Stop markers.
Base-map labels can change with map zoomReading the weather: map rings classify daily forecast wording at district reference points, not measured rainfall intensity. The route timeline uses its own concern levels. Missing data is not a clear-weather signal.
Community reports: reports come from other riders and may be inaccurate or outdated. Configured visibility windows are 1 hour for traffic and police, and 2 hours for other categories. A confirmation can reset the window; reports can close sooner. Check when a report was last confirmed, and submit only when safely stopped.
Traffic from Google · Weather from MET Malaysia · Radar from RainViewer · Reports from the RouteOne community. Availability and freshness depend on each source.
Ride safely: reports and forecasts are guidance only. Always follow road signs, conditions and the law, and do not use your phone while riding.
03 / ONE BUILD. TWO WAYS IN.
RouteOne is built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Your browser runs that code directly. The Android app runs the same code inside a WebView — a browser built into an installable app.
Open a link. Start exploring.
No installationThe same experience, in a WebView.
Install on your phoneThe web version is the proof: you’re using the same app code.
| What to expect | Browser | Android APK |
|---|---|---|
| Installation | Open the link | Download and install once |
| Updates | Latest version on reload | Install new APK releases* |
| GPS | Browser location permission | Android / WebView location permission |
| Offline shell | Not guaranteed | Depends on APK packaging* |
| Performance | Depends on browser and device | Depends on WebView and device |
| Best for | Trying it on any device | Keeping it on your Android phone |
*APK updates and offline availability depend on the installed release. Live maps, routes, weather and AI need internet in both versions.

A FEW MORE THINGS
RouteOne is a student final-year project available to try without a purchase. Your usual mobile data charges may apply.
The Android build is shared directly for this student project. An APK lets you install it without a Play Store listing. You can also try the browser version without installing anything.
Only download from this official page. Compare the file’s SHA-256 with the published checksum when available. Android’s unknown-source warning is expected for direct APK downloads; it does not certify or disprove an app’s safety. Review permissions before installing.
Use the browser version on iPhone or iPad and allow location access when needed. The APK only installs on Android. There is no iOS app offered here.
This project focuses its route planning, weather context and testing on Peninsular Malaysia. Sabah, Sarawak and international journeys are outside its current scope.
Google supplies traffic-aware routing, maps and Places. Weather comes from MET Malaysia and radar from RainViewer. Gemini provides AI analysis. Community reports use Supabase / PostgreSQL. Availability and freshness depend on each source.
The HTML, CSS and JavaScript are shared. The web app runs in your browser; the Android APK wraps them in a WebView. Installation, permission prompts and updates differ. Both need internet for live services.
